An oval top
The oval top follows a long sofa and has no corners to catch.
A gold sphere
A polished gold sphere hangs beneath the top like a full moon.
A hammered loop
The loop is hammered by hand, so its gold surface catches light in many small points.
Soft veining
The white top is veined only softly, so the gold base remains the focus.
Materials, named

The making
The loop is rolled and then hammered by hand, blow by blow, before polishing; the sphere is spun and polished, and the base finished in gold PVD.
The finished piece
It suits a formal living room with velvet sofas and a patterned rug.
