A living room that wants a side table with an open shelf below
A solid lower shelf hides the floor and gathers dust, while no shelf at all leaves books and magazines on the floor.
Pitha joins its slim gold legs with a slatted shelf, open enough to let light through and strong enough to hold books.
Four decisions
A slatted shelf
Gold slats form the lower shelf, open between each strip so light and air pass through.
Slim gold legs
Slim gold legs carry the top and the shelf, light and straight to the floor.
About 50 cm across
As shown the round top is about 50 cm across, sized for a lamp and a cup.
A seat for books
The slatted shelf holds magazines, books or a folded throw beneath the top.
Materials, named
As shown, a round white top about 50 cm across on slim gold PVD stainless steel legs with a slatted gold lower shelf.
The making
The slats are cut and welded between the legs one by one, ground clean, and the whole frame polished and finished in gold PVD.
The finished piece
Set it beside a sofa or an armchair, with a lamp on top and magazines on the slatted shelf.
