A living room that wants a calm sofa with clean, architectural lines
Many sofas in Hyderabad showrooms are overstuffed and rounded, with pillowy arms that make a modern living room look heavy and dated.
Aethel is the opposite: wide flat track arms, a tailored cover that follows the frame, and loose ivory cushions that soften it just enough.
Four decisions
Three seats, one run
The sofa seats three in one straight run, with the seat drawn to the length of the wall it stands against.
Wide track arms
The Aethel arms are wide, flat and square, so they double as a place to rest a cup or a book, and keep the outline crisp.
Two tones
A sage-grey tailored cover on the frame and ivory on the cushions give the sofa depth without any pattern.
Slim feet
Slim brushed-steel feet lift the sofa clear of the floor, so the room looks larger and the floor is easy to clean.
Materials, named
As shown, an ivory textured weave on the seat and back cushions and a sage-grey tailored cover on the arms and base, on slim brushed stainless steel feet. A cognac leather version is also shown.
The making
The Aethel frame is built in seasoned hardwood with square, flat arms, sprung and padded, and the tailored cover is cut and stitched so its seams follow the edges of the frame exactly.
The finished piece
It suits a modern living room with a low centre table and a single accent chair; the flat arms keep the sightlines across the room open.
We make the Aethel in our own Hyderabad factory and deliver it ourselves, to apartments in Kondapur and Madhapur as readily as to villas in Narsingi.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
