Headboard fabric, shape and finish are among the biggest things that decide what a bed costs.

Search for a hydraulic bed price and you will find prices that differ several times over, for beds that look alike in a photograph. The gap is not random. It comes from a short list of things you can check. This guide explains what decides the cost of a hydraulic bed in Hyderabad, so you can compare quotes like for like.

Why hydraulic bed prices vary so much

A hydraulic bed is a frame, a platform, a headboard, a finish and a lifting fitting, and each of these can be built in very different ways. An engineered board bed from a production line, a solid timber bed and a made-to-order upholstered bed are all called hydraulic beds, but they are different products. Online listings also tend to show a high original price with a large discount beside it, so compare the price you would actually pay, not the size of the discount.

What decides the price

  • Size. A king bed uses more timber, board and fabric than a queen, and a made-to-measure size is priced from its own drawing.
  • The headboard. A plain panel, a deeply padded upholstered headboard, a curved shape and a tall wingback take very different amounts of material and hours of work.
  • Fabric or leather. Fabrics are graded and priced very differently, and leather costs more than most fabrics.
  • The frame. Solid timber, engineered board and metal each price differently, and so does the way the frame is joined.
  • The lifting fitting. The gas struts and the stronger platform that carry the mattress add to the price, and a fitting built for a heavier load generally costs more.
  • Finish and detail. Stitching, piping, buttoning and timber finish all take time.
  • Where it is made and sold. A bed that passes through a factory, a distributor and a showroom carries a margin at each step. A bed sold directly by the maker does not.
  • Delivery and installation. Check whether delivery, assembly and fitting the mechanism are in the quote or charged extra.

What a 100 kg or 200 kg hydraulic fitting price means

Many people who search for a 200 kg hydraulic bed price are pricing the lifting hardware on its own, which a carpenter fits into a bed they build. The number is the load the fitting is rated for. It is not the price of a bed. If you are buying a complete bed, ask the maker what the fitting is rated for and match it to your mattress, as our guide to how hydraulic storage beds work explains.

How storage type affects the price

Hydraulic storage costs more than a plain platform because of the fitting and the stronger platform it needs. Box storage has no mechanism, so it is usually simpler to build. Drawers need runners and a different frame. Choose the storage for how you will use it first, then compare prices.

How to compare quotes like for like

  1. Same size. Confirm the mattress size each quote is for.
  2. Same headboard. Ask for the shape and the height.
  3. Same cover. Ask whether it is fabric or leather, and which grade.
  4. Same frame. Ask whether it is timber or board, and how it is built.
  5. Same fitting. Ask for the load rating and how many struts are used.
  6. Same extras. Ask what delivery, assembly and any warranty include, in writing.
  7. The final price. Compare what you will pay, with GST, not the percentage off.

What a made-to-order bed costs

Every bed we make is drawn to your room, so there is no fixed price list for a made-to-order bed. Our price guide gives starting prices for beds and the other pieces we make, as a guide, and a written quote follows the drawing. Because we make every bed in our own factory in Cherlapally, east Hyderabad, and sell factory direct, there is no showroom margin in the number. Any bed we make can be built with hydraulic storage.

Questions people ask

What is the price of a hydraulic bed in Hyderabad?

It depends on the size, headboard, fabric or leather, frame, fitting and finish, so beds of the same size can be priced very differently. Our price guide gives guide prices for our beds, and a written quote follows the drawing.

Is a hydraulic bed more expensive than a normal bed?

Usually yes, because of the lifting fitting and the stronger platform it needs. The size, headboard and cover affect the price as well.

Is hydraulic storage worth the extra cost?

If your bedroom is short of wardrobe space, usually yes, because it gives you a large storage space without more furniture. If you already have plenty of storage, a simpler bed may suit you better.

How much does a king size hydraulic bed cost?

A king size bed uses more material than a queen, so the same design is priced higher. The exact price depends on the headboard, cover and finish. See our price guide for guide prices and our size guide for king and queen dimensions.

What does a 100 kg or 200 kg hydraulic fitting mean?

It is the load the lifting fitting is rated for. It is the hardware alone, not a bed. For a complete bed, ask the maker for the rating and match it to your mattress.

Can I keep a hydraulic bed within a budget?

Ask for two versions priced side by side, for example a fabric headboard and a leather one, or two headboard shapes. Seeing the difference in writing shows you which choice moves the price most.
