Apartment living rooms rarely have a spare cupboard, so the coffee table has to work as storage.
Kosha builds a deep slatted drawer into its black base, with a stacked walnut side table beside it.

A slatted drawer
A deep drawer with a slatted walnut front slides out of the black base on metal runners.
A grey stone top
A square grey sintered-stone top resists heat and stains, and needs only a damp cloth.
A stacked side table
The round walnut side table is stacked in layers on a black drum, beside the main table.
Square and practical
The square top suits an L-shaped sofa, reachable from both sides of the corner.
Materials, named

The making
The box is built in engineered wood and lacquered black, the drawer fitted on metal runners, and the walnut slats glued and finished.
