Many people eat, read and work from the sofa, and a centre table is always just too far away to reach.
Ashraya pairs a stone centre table with a smoked-glass side table on a C-frame that slides over the sofa seat, a shelter for the cup or laptop.
Four decisions
A tapered base
The white top stands on a black base that tapers to the floor, so the table seems to float.
A C-frame side table
The smoked-glass side table slides its C-frame under the sofa, bringing a surface within reach.
About 80 by 60 cm
As shown the centre table is about 80 by 60 cm, sized for a two- or three-seat sofa.
Stone and glass
White stone and smoked glass give the two tables different weights that suit their jobs.
Materials, named
As shown, a white sintered-stone top on a black powder-coated tapered base, with a smoked tempered glass side top on a black C-frame.
The making
The tapered base and the C-frame are cut and welded from steel and powder-coated black, and the stone and glass tops fixed on pads.
The finished piece
It suits a living room where the sofa is also the place for meals, reading and work.
