A contemporary room that wants a metallic base less loud than gold
Matte black can look heavy in a light room, and polished gold can look too festive for every day.
Lauha uses gunmetal, a dark, softly reflective grey like forged iron, shaped into hourglasses and collared in gold.
Four decisions
Gunmetal pedestals
Each hourglass pedestal is finished in gunmetal PVD, a dark grey with a soft metallic sheen.
Gold collars
A gold collar at each waist gives the dark metal a small, warm point of light.
An hourglass shape
The pedestals flare at both ends and narrow at the middle, so the tables look poised.
Between black and gold
Gunmetal sits between matte black and polished gold, quiet by day and rich by lamplight.
Materials, named
As shown, round white sintered-stone tops on hourglass pedestals of gunmetal PVD stainless steel with gold PVD collars.
The making
The hourglass cones are spun from stainless steel, joined and polished, finished in gunmetal PVD, and the gold collar fitted at the waist.
The finished piece
They suit a contemporary living room with charcoal or slate upholstery and warm lamps.
