Round white sintered-stone tops sit crisp above the black, so the outline reads clearly.

The three-tone contrast gives the nest a graphic, modern look in a neutral room.

The making
The two cones of each hourglass are spun from steel, joined at the waist, powder-coated black, and the gold collar fitted over the joint.
The finished piece
They suit a modern living room with a grey or white sofa and black-framed windows.
