The brief

A modern room that wants timber tops on a cool, dark base

Walnut on tan cones is warm and tonal, but a modern room with grey sofas wants a cooler base beneath the timber.

Parvata sets walnut tops on dark grey cones, like mountains at dusk, so the timber sits in a cool, modern palette.

Four decisions

Dark grey cones

Each table stands on a dark grey cone, wide at the floor and narrow beneath the top.

Walnut tops

Round walnut tops bring warmth to the dark cones and suit timber floors.

Warm over cool

Walnut over charcoal balances warm and cool, at home beside grey upholstery.

A nest

The smaller table tucks beside the larger and moves easily to a chair.

Materials, named

As shown, round walnut-veneered tops on cone pedestals of charcoal powder-coated steel; stone tops are available.

Walnut veneer Matte lacquer over the grain
Frame Charcoal powder-coat

The making

The cones are spun from steel and powder-coated charcoal, and the walnut tops veneered, lacquered matte and fixed to them.

The finished piece

They suit a modern living room with a grey sofa, a walnut sideboard and a wool rug.

The Parvata is made to order in our own factory in Cherlapally, drawn at our Gachibowli studio, and delivered to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tellapur and beyond.

Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.

Questions

Questions about the Parvata nesting tables

How is the Parvata different from the Shikhara nesting tables?

Both have walnut tops on cones; the Shikhara cones are tan, the Parvata cones dark grey.

Can the Parvata tops be oak?

Yes. The tops can be veneered in light oak or teak, or cut in sintered stone.

Sintered stone or Italian marble: which is better for the Parvata nesting tables?

On the Parvata, sintered stone, as photographed, is harder and needs no sealing; Italian marble is softer and needs sealing, but every slab is one of a kind. The Parvata can be made with either, on charcoal powder-coated steel.

How much does the Parvata nesting tables cost, and how do I order it?

The price depends on the size and materials you choose, so we quote once the Parvata is drawn to your room, factory direct with no showroom markup. Book a design session at our Gachibowli studio, or send photographs of the room the Parvata is for on WhatsApp.
