A minimal room that wants the simplest black and white nesting set
A minimal room needs furniture with as few ideas as possible: one shape, two colours, nothing more.
Vartula is circles only, plain white tops on black rings, a nesting set reduced to its simplest form.
Four decisions
Circles only
Round tops on round rings, so the whole set is made of one shape.
Plain white tops
Plain white stone tops, with no veining, keep the set as calm as possible.
Black rings
Black ring frames outline each little table crisply against a pale timber or tiled floor.
A nest
The smaller table slides beside the larger, two circles at two heights.
Materials, named
As shown, round plain white sintered-stone tops on ring frames of black powder-coated steel; gold PVD rings are available.
The making
The rings are rolled from steel bar, welded into frames, ground smooth and powder-coated black before the tops are fixed.
The finished piece
They suit a minimal living room with a white sofa, a pale floor and very little else.
