A long dining room where four corner legs would cost two chairs
Eight people at one table need its full length, ends included. Four legs at the corners take that away: the end diners straddle a leg, and the chairs along each side stop short of it.
Infinity moves all of the support into one sculpted walnut base at the centre, so the whole 210 cm edge, and both ends, are free for chairs and for people to move round.
Four decisions
A top drawn for eight
At 210 × 100 cm there is room for three chairs along each side and one at each end, each with a full place setting and a serving dish down the middle.
One base, two loops
The walnut base is a single form that crosses over itself. From the side it reads as two loops; from the end it is slim enough that knees never meet it.
Weight kept low
The loops meet the floor along their full curve, so a large stone top sits steady without a cross-rail or plinth for anyone to stub a toe on.
Cream, not white
The Infinity top is a warm cream with soft grey veining, which sits better beside timber than a cold white and hides the everyday marks of a family table.
Materials, named
The Infinity top is sintered stone in cream with grey veining, and the base is solid wood with a walnut finish. The same table can be cut in natural Italian marble or Pandora quartzite if you would rather have real stone.
The making
The loop base is shaped from laminated solid wood so the curve holds its form through the seasons, sanded through the grades by hand and finished in walnut before the top is dry-fitted on the bench.
The finished piece
It suits a long dining room or an open-plan villa where the table is seen from the living area; the loops are what people notice from the sofa.
The Infinity is made to order in our own factory in Cherlapally, drawn at our Gachibowli studio, and delivered to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tellapur and beyond.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
