A narrow balcony that needs a table for two, only some of the time
City balconies are narrow, and a fixed table takes the space all day for the hour each morning when it is actually used.
Otranto is a small folding table for two with a patchwork top that brightens a grey balcony, and folds away the moment the tea is finished.
Four decisions
60 × 60 cm for two
Room for two cups, a plate and a newspaper, sized for the depth of a typical apartment balcony.
Legs that fold flat
The black legs fold up beneath the top, so the table stores flat against a wall or behind a door.
A patchwork print
The colourful printed top lifts a plain balcony and hides the dust and splashes of outdoor use.
A wipe-clean face
The laminate face shrugs off spilt tea, rain spots and sticky fingers, and wipes clean in a moment.
Materials, named
A printed laminate top in a patchwork pattern, on folding legs of black powder-coated steel that lock open firmly without tools.
The making
The laminate is pressed onto its board and the edge sealed so moisture cannot get in, then the folding legs are welded, powder-coated and fitted.
The finished piece
It belongs on a balcony with two folding chairs and a planter, used every morning and folded away every evening.
We build the Otranto in our Hyderabad factory and deliver it to homes across the city, from Gachibowli and Kondapur to Tellapur, Gandipet and Jubilee Hills.
