A regal silhouette reimagined for contemporary living
Homeowners in Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills frequently seek furniture that honors India's profound tradition of classical woodwork without looking heavy, austere, or dated. They needed a sofa with regal presence for an intimate salon or drawing room — a piece built not just to fill a space, but to elevate it.
The brief required an uncompromising union of hand-carved solid timber artistry and deep ergonomic seating comfort. Ishaan was drawn as a two-seater accent couch that commands attention as a freestanding sculpture from all angles.
Four decisions
Hand-carved solid timber crown & capitals
The top crest rail features a fluted fan medallion and carved finial corner posts hand-shaped by our master woodcarvers in Hyderabad. Every relief line is carved with chisels directly into seasoned timber rather than molded resin appliqués.
Twin seat architecture with tailored piping
Instead of a monolithic bench, the seating is split into two deep cushions enveloped in tailored double-piping. Calibrated 36D high-resilience foam layered with silicone microfibre provides supportive posture that never sinks unevenly.
Turned spindle legs with fluted collars
Six load-bearing turned legs feature fluted urn details and brass ferrule glides. Raising the frame allows airflow beneath the piece and ensures delicate marble and hardwood flooring remain pristine.
Heirloom joinery — made to be passed on
Every structural rail is united with double-dowelled mortise-and-tenon joints reinforced with internal hardwood gusset blocks. Ishaan is built to last decades and pass gracefully across generations.
Materials, named
Every piece at Mavensoft Furniture is crafted to order in our Hyderabad factory. Every specification on this page is tailored to the exact dimensions of your room.
Solid seasoned timber through the entire structural framework, hand-carved by artisans whose families have worked wood in the Deccan region for generations. Paired with textured breathable fabrics that age gracefully in Hyderabad's climate.
The making
The frame was carved and dry-fitted in our factory before upholstery began. The fluted crest rail was smoothed by hand with six successive grits of sandpaper, then sealed with deep antique walnut stain to highlight the timber's natural medullary rays.
The finished piece
In situ, Ishaan anchors the room with quiet majesty — formal enough for reception, yet welcoming enough for quiet evening reading.
