A warm, crafted room that wants a timber table with a shape of its own
Round and square coffee tables are everywhere, and a room of crafted timber deserves a shape with more character.
Ashtakona is eight-sided, its walnut laid in a sunburst from the centre, with a shelf below and a bronze octagon on a tripod beside it.
Four decisions
Eight sides
The octagonal top has eight sides, a shape between round and square with real character.
A walnut sunburst
The walnut is laid in wedges from the centre, so the grain radiates like rays of the sun.
An open shelf
An open shelf below holds books and trays within reach of the sofa.
A bronze side top
A smaller bronze octagon on slim tripod legs stands beside it as a side table.
Materials, named
As shown, an octagonal walnut-veneered table laid in a sunburst with an open shelf, with an octagonal bronze side top on slim tripod legs.
The making
Each wedge of walnut is cut and laid by hand into the sunburst, the shelf fitted below, and the tops lacquered matte.
The finished piece
It suits a warm living room with timber floors, a leather sofa and crafted pieces on the walls.
We build the Ashtakona in our Hyderabad factory and deliver it to homes across the city, from Gachibowli and Kondapur to Tellapur, Gandipet and Jubilee Hills.
