A living room that wants a coffee table with two heights
A single flat coffee table forces everything onto one level, so the tea tray, the books and the decorative bowl all compete for space.
Vedika steps down in two levels like a raised platform, a stone surface for the tray and a lower drawer box for everything else.
Four decisions
Two levels
The table steps from a higher stone top down to a lower box, giving two surfaces at different heights.
A dark veined top
The upper top is a dark veined stone set in a walnut frame, the place for the tea tray.
A cream drawer box
A cream lacquered box with a drawer sits on the lower level, for remotes and papers.
A walnut plinth
Both levels sit on a walnut plinth that ties them into one piece of furniture.
Materials, named
As shown, a dark veined sintered-stone top in a walnut-veneered frame, a cream lacquered drawer box, and a plinth of solid wood with a walnut finish.
The making
The walnut frame and plinth are built and finished, the stone top cut to sit within its frame, and the cream box lacquered with its drawer on metal runners.
The finished piece
It suits a modern living room with a low sofa, where the two levels make the table look considered and architectural.
The Vedika is drawn at our Gachibowli studio, made in our own factory, and delivered across Hyderabad, from Hitec City and Madhapur to Kokapet and Banjara Hills.
