The brief

A warm room that wants a timber side table with a modern stem

Timber side tables on four legs can look traditional, while all-metal ones can feel cold in a warm room.

Kanda sets a round walnut top on a slim black stem, rising like a plant's stalk from a square walnut base.

Four decisions

Walnut top and base

The round top and square base are both walnut, warm and tied together by the grain.

A black stem

A slim black stem rises between them like a stalk, the only metal in the table.

About 60 cm across

As shown the top is about 60 cm across, generous for a lamp, a cup and a book.

Round over square

A round top over a square base gives the table a quiet, modern balance.

Materials, named

As shown, a round walnut-veneered top about 60 cm across on a black powder-coated steel stem over a square walnut-veneered base.

Walnut veneer Matte lacquer over the grain
Frame Black powder-coat

The making

The top and base are veneered in walnut and lacquered matte, and the black stem welded to plates fixed into both.

The finished piece

Set it beside a leather armchair or a linen sofa in a warm, timber-floored room.

The Kanda is made in our own factory and delivered across Hyderabad, from Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills to Kokapet, Narsingi and the Financial District.

Questions

Questions about the Kanda side table

What size is the Kanda side table?

As shown the top is about 60 cm across; the height and size can be drawn to suit your room.

Is there an oak version of the Kanda?

Yes. The Yashti side table uses a similar design with an oak top and a black base.

What material options are there for the Kanda side table?

As photographed, the Kanda is walnut veneer on black powder-coated steel. Because we make the Kanda to order in our own factory, its top can be cut instead in natural Italian marble, onyx or Pandora quartzite, and its base finished in another PVD colour or powder-coat.

What does a custom-made Kanda side table cost in Hyderabad?

The Kanda is priced on its size, the top and the finish you pick. Send us the room's measurements on WhatsApp or visit the Gachibowli studio, and we quote factory direct once the Kanda is drawn.
