A modern living room that wants a sculptural, layered coffee table
Layered forms look striking in a modern room, but stacked tables can feel unstable or fussy when they are not drawn carefully.
Shreni stacks three soft-edged slabs, each a little smaller than the one beneath, in walnut, taupe and black.
Four decisions
Three tiers
Three rounded slabs stack one above another, each offset slightly so the layers show.
Three finishes
Walnut on top, taupe in the middle and black at the base give the stack depth.
Rounded edges
Every slab has soft rounded edges, kind to knees and calm to the eye.
Low and grounded
The black base sits on the floor, so the stack is stable and never rocks.
Materials, named
As shown, a walnut-veneered top over a taupe lacquered tier over a black lacquered base, on engineered wood.
The making
Each slab is built in engineered wood with rounded edges, finished separately, and fixed in its offset position so the stack reads clearly.
The finished piece
It suits a modern living room with a low sofa and a plain rug, where the layers are the sculpture.
We make the Shreni in our own Hyderabad factory and deliver it ourselves, to apartments in Kondapur and Madhapur as readily as to villas in Narsingi.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
