The brief

A light, Scandinavian room that wants a simple timber side table

Walnut is warm but dark, and in a pale Scandinavian room a lighter timber keeps everything airy.

Yashti uses a round oak top on a slim black stem, like a staff, over a square black base.

Four decisions

A light oak top

The round top is oak veneer, pale and warm, suited to light floors and white walls.

A black stem

A slim black stem rises like a walking staff, simple and straight beneath the oak.

A square black base

A square black base grounds the table and gives it a crisp modern outline.

About 60 cm across

As shown the top is about 60 cm across, room for a lamp, a cup and a book.

Materials, named

As shown, a round oak-veneered top about 60 cm across on a black powder-coated steel stem over a square black base.

Oak veneer Light oak, matte lacquer
Frame Black powder-coat

The making

The oak top is veneered and lacquered matte, and the black stem welded to a square plate and powder-coated before the top is fixed.

The finished piece

Set it beside a pale linen sofa or a white armchair in a light, Scandinavian-style room.

Each Yashti is factory-made in Hyderabad and installed by our own team, whether the home is a penthouse in Kokapet or a villa off the Gandipet road.

Questions

Questions about the Yashti side table

How is the Yashti different from the Kanda side table?

The Kanda has a walnut top and walnut base; the Yashti a light oak top on a black base.

Can the Yashti top be walnut?

Yes. The top can be walnut, teak or ash veneer, or a sintered-stone top.

What material options are there for the Yashti side table?

As photographed, the Yashti is oak veneer on black powder-coated steel. Because we make the Yashti to order in our own factory, its top can be cut instead in natural Italian marble, onyx or Pandora quartzite, and its base finished in another PVD colour or powder-coat.

How do I get the Yashti side table made to my size?

Share the measurements of the room the Yashti is for on WhatsApp, or bring them to our Gachibowli studio. We draw the Yashti to fit, agree its materials with you, and quote factory direct.
