A long sofa wants a long coffee table, but beneath a rectangle a plain base can look like an afterthought.
Jaala weaves its gold base from interlocking loops, like a net, so the long table has a statement beneath its calm white top.
Four decisions
A woven-loop base
Gold loops weave through each other beneath the top, like the mesh of a net.
A gold edge
A thin gold edge runs round the white top, tying it to the gold base below.
A long rectangle
The rectangle follows a three-seat sofa, with room for a tray, books and flowers.
White and gold
A white top over gold loops is formal, bright and festive in a room lit for guests.
Materials, named
As shown, a rectangular white sintered-stone top with a gold PVD edge on a woven-loop base of gold PVD stainless steel.
The making
The loops are bent on a jig, woven and welded at every crossing, polished and finished in gold PVD, and the gold edge fitted round the top.
The finished piece
It suits a formal living room with a long velvet sofa and a pair of armchairs.
