A modern living room that wants fluted texture in a nesting set
Plain black drums are calm but can look flat in a room lit from one side, with no texture to catch the light.
Tabla flutes each black drum in fine vertical ribs, like the stretched skin and straps of a tabla, so light and shadow play down the base.
Four decisions
Fluted drums
Fine vertical flutes run down each black drum, catching light and throwing thin lines of shadow.
Grey-veined tops
White sintered-stone tops veined in grey sit above the black, bright and clearly outlined.
Two heights
The tables stand at two heights, so the smaller tucks against the larger in front of the sofa.
Black and white
Black flutes under white stone give the nest a crisp, graphic look in a modern room.
Materials, named
As shown, round white sintered-stone tops with grey veining on fluted drums of black lacquered engineered wood.
The making
Each drum is built from engineered wood with its flutes routed one by one, then lacquered black in several coats before the tops are fixed.
The finished piece
They suit a modern living room with a grey sofa, a pale rug and a single arc lamp.
The Tabla is made to order in our own factory in Cherlapally, drawn at our Gachibowli studio, and delivered to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tellapur and beyond.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
