A formal living room furnished with velvet sofas and brass lamps needs a coffee table with the same sense of occasion.
Yugma gives its stone top a mosaic-tiled edge and sets it on twin gold rings, so the centre table carries the detail of a piece of jewellery.
Four decisions
A mosaic edge
The edge of the top is tiled in mosaic, a band of small tesserae that catches the light like a border of jewels.
Twin gold rings
Two gold rings carry the top side by side, a pair that gives the table its name.
A mirror plinth
The rings stand on a mirror plinth that reflects the gold and lifts the base off the floor.
A long rectangle
The rectangular top follows the line of a long sofa and leaves room for a tray and books.
Materials, named
As shown, a cream sintered-stone top with brown veining and a mosaic-tiled edge, on twin rings of gold PVD stainless steel over a mirror-polished plinth.
The making
The mosaic edge is set by hand round the stone top, the gold rings are rolled, welded and PVD-finished, and the plinth is polished to a mirror.
The finished piece
It suits a formal living room with velvet sofas, a patterned rug and a crystal chandelier above.
