A long table that needs a base with no legs at the ends
A long table for eight needs strong support, but legs at the corners take away the end seats and crowd the chairs along the sides.
Model 673 gathers all of its support into two interlocking loops at the centre, so the ends and the sides stay completely free.
Four decisions
Two loops, interlocked
Each loop is a closed curve of timber; one passes through the other at right angles, bracing the base.
No rail needed
Because the loops brace each other, there is no cross-rail at knee or ankle height.
For long tops
It is drawn for tops of 180 to 220 cm, the size of a six- to eight-seat dining table.
A sculptural centre
Seen from the living room, the two walnut loops are what people notice first about the table.
Materials, named
Solid wood with a walnut finish. The top shown is a display top; pair the Model 673 with sintered stone, Italian marble, onyx or Pandora quartzite.
The making
Each loop is laminated from thin layers bent over a former, then shaped; one is notched to receive the other, and the joint glued, faired and finished.
The finished piece
It suits a large open-plan dining room in a villa or penthouse, where the base is seen from a distance.
We make the 673 in our own Hyderabad factory and deliver it ourselves, to apartments in Kondapur and Madhapur as readily as to villas in Narsingi.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
