A round table that wants a column with architecture
A round dining table needs a central column, and a plain cylinder can look like a drainpipe beneath a beautiful top.
Model 1619 builds its column in tiers that step in as they rise, so the base has the presence of a small piece of architecture.
Four decisions
Tiers that step in
Each tier is a little narrower than the one below, so the column tapers in clear, deliberate steps.
A broad plinth
The lowest tier widens into a plinth that spreads the weight of a stone top across the floor.
Made for round tops
A column reads the same from every chair, which makes it the partner for a round top of 100 to 130 cm.
Shadow lines
Every step casts a thin shadow, so the column changes character as the light moves.
Materials, named
Solid wood with a walnut finish. The top in the photograph is a display top; yours is cut in sintered stone, Italian marble or onyx.
The making
Each tier is cut and squared separately, the tiers stacked and glued so the grain runs on, then the column is sanded and finished in walnut.
The finished piece
Under a round Italian marble top it makes a dining table for four to six with real weight, ideal in a square room.
We build the 1619 in our Hyderabad factory and deliver it to homes across the city, from Gachibowli and Kondapur to Tellapur, Gandipet and Jubilee Hills.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
