A classic dining room that wants ornament without heaviness
Classical homes call for a table with some ornament, but carved timber pedestals can feel heavy and dark in a bright Hyderabad home.
Lugano draws its scrolls in gold metal, so the table keeps a classical outline with a much lighter touch than carved wood.
Four decisions
180 × 90 cm
Six seats in comfort, three to a side, with room for two more at the ends for a dinner party.
Two scrolls
Each end of the table stands on a gold scroll pedestal that curls in on itself like a classical bracket.
A base rail
A gold rail joins the two scrolls at floor level, keeping them rigid under the weight of a stone top.
Soft veining
The white top is veined lightly so the scrolls stay the focus and the table reads as calm from above.
Materials, named
White sintered stone with soft veining on the top; scroll pedestals and rail in stainless steel with a gold PVD finish.
The making
The scrolls are bent and shaped from steel, welded to the base rail, polished, and given their gold PVD finish before the top is fitted.
The finished piece
It suits a formal dining room with panelled walls, a chandelier and upholstered chairs on gold legs.
The Lugano is made to order in our own factory in Cherlapally, drawn at our Gachibowli studio, and delivered to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tellapur and beyond.
