A dining room that wants some softness among the hard surfaces
Dining rooms are full of hard surfaces: stone, steel, timber and glass. A single soft element changes how the whole room feels to sit in.
Aethelgard upholsters its pedestal, so the one piece everyone sits around is also the softest thing in the room.
Four decisions
Six seats at 180 cm
Room for six with generous space between chairs, in a size suited to a dedicated dining room.
A quilted pedestal
The pedestal is wrapped in diamond-quilted upholstery, soft against the knee and quiet when a foot touches it.
A gold oval plinth
The upholstered form stands on an oval plinth of gold, which lifts it clear of the floor and keeps it clean.
Lilac-grey veining
The faint lilac in the veining of the stone suits the softness of the base and the warmth of the gold.
Materials, named
White sintered stone with lilac-grey veining; the pedestal is upholstered in white wipe-clean faux leather, quilted in diamonds; the plinth is gold PVD steel.
The making
The pedestal frame is built first, then padded, and the quilting laid out and stitched by hand before the cover is stretched over the form and fixed above the gold plinth.
The finished piece
Pair it with velvet chairs in blush or sage for a soft, luxurious dining room with a crystal chandelier.
We make the Aethelgard in our own Hyderabad factory and deliver it ourselves, to apartments in Kondapur and Madhapur as readily as to villas in Narsingi.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
