A modern apartment that needs a dining table with one bold idea
Contemporary apartments often have plain walls and plain floors, and a dining table is the one piece that can bring movement into the room.
Vortex puts that movement into a single walnut column that twists from the floor to the top, beneath a calm, softly veined stone.
Four decisions
Six at 180 cm
Six seats in comfort, sized for the open-plan dining area of a modern apartment in Hitec City or Kondapur.
A turned column
The walnut column twists through a quarter turn as it rises, narrowing at its waist and widening again at either end.
A black mirror plate
The column stands on a black mirror plate, so the base seems to rise from a dark, still pool on the floor.
Soft veining
The cream top's veining is gentle by design, so the twisting column below stays the focus of the table.
Materials, named
Cream sintered stone on the top, solid wood with a walnut finish for the column, and black mirror PVD on stainless steel for the plate.
The making
The column is turned from a laminated blank, then the twist is carved and refined by hand so the grain follows the spiral before it is finished in walnut.
The finished piece
Pair it with black-framed chairs to echo the plate, in a room with concrete-grey or white walls and a single statement pendant.
We make the Vortex in our own Hyderabad factory and deliver it ourselves, to apartments in Kondapur and Madhapur as readily as to villas in Narsingi.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
