A white-and-wood kitchen that needs a table to tie the two together
Kitchens finished in white with timber accents often end up with a dining table that matches neither: a white top looks clinical, and an all-timber table looks heavy.
Bellini puts the two together: a white veined top for the kitchen and a walnut pedestal for warmth, joined by a gold plate at the floor.
Four decisions
180 × 90 cm for six
Six seats with space between them, sized for a dining area that opens off a kitchen or a family room.
A Y-shaped pedestal
The walnut pedestal splits into two arms beneath the top, which spreads its support towards the ends without adding legs.
A gold plate
A gold plate grounds the Y and echoes the gold running through the veining of the stone above it.
Veining that warms
Brown and gold veins keep the white top from feeling cold when it sits beside walnut cabinetry and timber floors.
Materials, named
White sintered stone with brown and gold veining, a pedestal of solid wood in a walnut finish, and a plate of gold PVD stainless steel.
The making
The Y is jointed where its arms meet the stem and the joint shaped smooth by hand; the gold plate is PVD-finished and the stone top cut from a full slab.
The finished piece
Pair it with cane or walnut chairs to pick up the pedestal, or with white upholstered chairs for a softer look against a white kitchen.
