A dining room that wants one piece of real stone at its centre
Onyx is the stone people stop to look at: warm, banded and faintly translucent at the edges. It deserves a base that frames it rather than competing with it.
Vesper sets a six-seat onyx top on two arched walnut legs, so the stone carries the colour and the timber carries the shape, and nothing else asks for attention.
Four decisions
Six seats at 180 cm
The 180 × 90 cm top seats six with room to pass dishes, and fits a dining room of ordinary Hyderabad apartment proportions.
Two arches, not four legs
The walnut legs rise as a pair of arches from a single plate, which keeps all four corners clear and gives the table a softer outline than straight legs.
A rose-gold foot
The arches stand on a rose-gold plate, a thin line of warm metal at ankle height that picks up the amber running through the onyx.
Onyx that is sealed
Onyx is softer than manufactured stone, so the top is sealed after polishing and is happiest with coasters under glasses of wine or lime juice.
Materials, named
The supplier's label names the top as onyx marble: cream, with amber veining. The legs are solid wood with a walnut finish, and the plate is stainless steel in rose-gold PVD.
The making
The onyx is chosen as a slab, so the amber banding you approve is the banding you get; it is cut to size, polished and sealed, and the walnut arches are finished to match its warmth.
The finished piece
Under a warm pendant the onyx glows at its edges. Pair it with chairs upholstered in caramel or ivory so the stone stays the centre of attention.
We build the Vesper in our Hyderabad factory and deliver it to homes across the city, from Gachibowli and Kondapur to Tellapur, Gandipet and Jubilee Hills.
