A dining room that wants one piece of sculpture and has no corner for it
Some rooms want a sculptural piece but have no corner to put it in. The dining table is the one object in the middle of the room that everyone sees.
Palladio makes its pedestal the sculpture: a slanting, twisting form of walnut beneath a calm onyx top, seen from every chair in the room.
Four decisions
Six seats at 180 cm
The 180 × 90 cm top seats six, a size that suits most Hyderabad apartments and leaves room to walk round.
A twist in the timber
The walnut pedestal leans and turns as it rises, so its silhouette changes as you walk round the table.
A rose-gold base plate
The twist stands on a rose-gold plate, which keeps it stable under heavy stone and adds a fine line of warm metal.
Onyx, named on the label
The supplier's label lists the top as onyx marble; it is polished and sealed in our factory before it is fitted.
Materials, named
Pale cream onyx marble on the top, as the label states; solid wood with a walnut finish for the pedestal; rose-gold PVD stainless steel for the plate.
The making
The twisting pedestal is carved from laminated timber, its faces worked by hand so the twist reads cleanly, then finished in walnut and dry-fitted under the onyx.
The finished piece
Light it from above so the twist throws a shadow on the floor; it rewards a room with a polished stone or tiled floor.
We build the Palladio in our Hyderabad factory and deliver it to homes across the city, from Gachibowli and Kondapur to Tellapur, Gandipet and Jubilee Hills.
Your room is not this room. Bring photographs and we will draw to it.
