A minimalist dining room that wants only two supports
Four legs are the default for a dining table, but in a pared-back room they can look like clutter around a beautiful top.
Portofino uses two broad block legs, one at each end, so the long sides of the table are completely open for chairs and for legs.
Four decisions
Two supports
Each end stands on a single broad block, so there are no legs along the sides of the table at all.
Black against white
The two black blocks frame the white top like brackets, a strong and simple graphic in the room.
Open sides
Chairs slide in anywhere along the length of the table, so it seats as many as its top allows.
A plain top
White sintered stone, smooth and easy to clean, which lets the two black blocks carry the whole design.
Materials, named
White sintered stone on the top; two block legs in engineered wood under black lacquer, joined by a hidden rail beneath the top.
The making
Each block is built as a hollow box of engineered wood, edged and lacquered black, then fixed to a concealed rail beneath the top that keeps the table rigid.
The finished piece
It belongs in a minimalist room with pale walls and a few strong pieces; pair it with black or natural-wood chairs.
We build the Portofino in our Hyderabad factory and deliver it to homes across the city, from Gachibowli and Kondapur to Tellapur, Gandipet and Jubilee Hills.
