A round table that wants a column lighter than a solid pedestal
A solid pedestal can look heavy beneath a round top, especially in a small room where the table is close to everything.
Model T173 stacks gold rings into a column on a black plate, so the base reads as a light, open sculpture rather than a solid mass.
Four decisions
Stacked rings
Gold rings are stacked one above another to form the column, with light passing between them.
A black plate
A round black plate grounds the rings and makes the gold stand out against a pale floor.
Gold PVD
The rings are finished in gold PVD, which holds its colour and does not need polishing.
For round tops
It suits round tops of up to 120 cm, seating four around a single open column.
Materials, named
Rings of gold PVD stainless steel on a black powder-coated plate; a display top is shown in the photograph.
The making
The rings are rolled from steel, stacked and welded so they align perfectly, then polished and finished in gold PVD.
The finished piece
Under a round black or white marble top it makes a striking table for four in a modern dining room.
