A sofa and two chairs that belong together
The brief is a large living room around a fireplace wall, where one sofa leaves the other side of the room empty.
It asks for a sofa and two chairs that clearly belong together, and a table between them that can be seen from every seat.
Four decisions
Tufted channels
The sofa is tufted in deep channels, which give the velvet a rhythm and a soft, sinking seat.
Brown velvet
A deep brown with a pile that shifts in the light. It looks darker in shade and warmer near a lamp.
Sculptural chairs
Two accent chairs in cream patterned fabric, angular in outline, set across from the sofa.
Bronze bases
Each chair stands on a bronze base, which lifts it off the floor and ties it to the room's metal details.

As shown. Any piece can be made in another fabric, velvet or leather, chosen from the swatches in our Gachibowli studio.
The making
The sofa's channels are cut and stitched in our factory before the cover goes over the frame, so the lines run true along the whole length. The chairs are upholstered by hand.
The finished piece
In a living room, the sofa takes the long wall and the two chairs sit across from it, with a low table between.
