A sofa with many seams and cushions can look busy in a minimal room, where every line in the space is noticed.
Sola is one unbroken curve of ivory bouclé from end to end, with a sloping arm at one side, so it reads as a single soft sculpture.
Four decisions
One unbroken curve
The back and seat run in one continuous curve, with no seams at the seats to break the line.
A sloping arm
One arm slopes down and round, so the sofa can be leant into at the end like a chaise.
Ivory bouclé
Ivory bouclé is soft and warm, and its looped texture catches light gently across the curve.
Rust cushions
Two rust cushions bring a touch of colour that can be changed with the seasons.
Materials, named
As shown, ivory bouclé over the whole sofa with two rust scatter cushions; it can be made in any bouclé, velvet or fabric.
The making
The curved frame is built in seasoned hardwood, sprung and padded in one piece, and the bouclé is eased round the curve so its loops lie evenly.
The finished piece
It suits a minimal living room with pale walls, a round centre table and a single floor lamp.
