A warm living room that wants nesting tables in timber
Most nesting tables are metal and stone, which can feel cold in a living room furnished with timber and textiles.
Mridanga sets black stone tops into slatted walnut drums, so the pair feels warm and crafted, like a pair of drums.
Four decisions
Slatted walnut drums
Each table is a drum of walnut slats, crafted like the body of the mridanga it is named after.
Black stone tops
Round black sintered-stone tops, veined in white, sit neatly within the walnut rims.
A nesting pair
The smaller drum tucks beside the larger, and can be carried over to sit beside a chair.
Timber and stone
Warm walnut and cool black stone balance each other in a single, quiet pair of tables.
Materials, named
As shown, black sintered-stone tops with white veining set into slatted walnut-veneered drums; Nero Marquina marble tops are available.
The making
Each drum is built from walnut slats glued round a former, sanded smooth and finished, and the stone tops are cut to sit within the rims.
The finished piece
They suit a warm living room with a timber floor, a jute rug and a leather sofa.
The Mridanga is made to order in our own factory in Cherlapally, drawn at our Gachibowli studio, and delivered to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tellapur and beyond.
