A cosy dining room that wants a wooden table, not a stone one
Stone dominates modern dining tables, but some homes want the warmth of timber, especially in a cosy dining room or a study.
Potenza is a walnut-grain trestle table: simple, sturdy and warm, built on the oldest and strongest arrangement a table has.
Four decisions
Trestle legs
Two trestle frames joined by a stretcher carry the top, which makes the table rigid without any corner legs.
Walnut grain
The top shows a warm walnut grain under its lacquer, which softens a room full of hard surfaces.
Reddish tones
The legs are finished in a reddish walnut tone that suits terracotta, brass and warm lighting.
Built for daily use
The trestle can take years of meals, homework and leaning elbows without loosening at any of its joints.
Materials, named
A walnut-grain top under a hard lacquer, on trestle legs of walnut-finished timber; a stone top can be fitted to the same trestle.
The making
The trestles are cut and jointed, the stretcher fixed with hidden fixings, and the top lacquered in several coats, each rubbed back before the next.
The finished piece
It suits a cosy dining room, a study or a café that wants a warm, timber-led look.
It is shown with a matching chair.
The Potenza is made to order in our own factory in Cherlapally, drawn at our Gachibowli studio, and delivered to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Tellapur and beyond.
