A dining room where the corners of the table keep catching people
Rectangular tables in tight dining rooms have four corners at hip height, and in a busy home those corners get walked into every single day.
Cassini rounds its corners into an oval and moves the support into two cones, so the table is kind to everyone passing and seats eight at the same time.
Four decisions
An oval for eight
At 200 × 100 cm the oval seats eight, and its curved ends let an extra chair slip in when more guests arrive.
Twin cones
Two mirror-polished steel cones carry the top, narrow beneath it and wide at the floor, so knees have room and the table stands firm.
A band of gold
Each cone carries a gold band near its top, a small detail that catches the eye at seat height.
Speckled stone
The green-and-grey speckle reads like a natural granite and hides the daily marks of a busy table very well.
Materials, named
Sintered stone in a speckled, granite-like green and grey, on cones of mirror-polished stainless steel with a gold PVD band. A Pandora quartzite top suits this base particularly well.
The making
The cones are spun from stainless steel, polished to a mirror and banded in gold PVD; the oval top is cut from a full slab, its edge rounded and polished by hand.
The finished piece
An oval softens a square dining room, and the mirror cones reflect the floor, so the table looks lighter than its generous size.
Each Cassini is factory-made in Hyderabad and installed by our own team, whether the home is a penthouse in Kokapet or a villa off the Gandipet road.
