A dining room that wants presence without fuss
Some rooms want a substantial dining table, but sculptural bases can feel like too much for a calm, simply furnished home with pale walls.
Allegra uses one plain, solid block pedestal: weighty and calm, with only a gentle flare at the floor to give it a sense of standing firm.
Four decisions
160 × 90 cm
Six seats, a good fit for most apartment dining rooms, with the ends left free for a chair at the head of the table.
A block pedestal
One solid rectangular pedestal stands beneath the centre of the top, so there are no legs at the corners.
A flared foot
The pedestal widens at the floor into a flared foot, which keeps a stone top steady and gives the base a grounded look.
Dark and light
The dark walnut base contrasts with the pale cream top, so the table has a clear, simple outline in the room.
Materials, named
Pale cream sintered stone on the top and solid wood with a dark walnut finish for the pedestal; an Italian marble top can be fitted instead.
The making
The pedestal is built as a box of solid timber with the flare shaped at its foot, then sanded and finished in dark walnut before the top is fitted.
The finished piece
It anchors a room with pale floors and white walls; dark-framed chairs and a linen pendant complete the look.
Each Allegra is factory-made in Hyderabad and installed by our own team, whether the home is a penthouse in Kokapet or a villa off the Gandipet road.
