Model F01 is a grey X on a rectangular plate, strong and simple, so a richly veined top can take all the attention.
Four decisions
An X base
Two arms cross beneath the centre of the top, bracing it in both directions without a rail.
A rectangular plate
The X stands on a rectangular plate that matches a rectangular top and spreads its weight.
Neutral grey
A grey powder-coat sits quietly beneath any stone colour, from white marble to black onyx.
Every edge free
With the support at the centre, every edge of the table is free for chairs.
Materials, named
Grey powder-coated steel, photographed on its own without a top; the top is cut to order in the stone you choose.
The making
The arms of the X are cut, notched where they cross and welded, ground smooth, then powder-coated grey together with the plate.
The finished piece
It suits a modern dining room with grey walls, where a dramatic marble top is the centrepiece.
